Marianna Resort & Convention Tuktuk Samosir Supports Local SMEs & Culture Through Samosir Simanindo Fest 2025

Together with local SMEs and communities, Marianna Resort presents an authentic cultural experience for visitors while supporting the growth of tourism around Lake Toba.

Tuktuk, Samosir – A vibrant spirit of celebration filled the grounds of Marianna Resort & Convention Tuktuk on August 14–15, 2025, as thousands of visitors, both locals and tourists, gathered for the Samosir Simanindo Fest 2025.

The two-day festival was held to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of Indonesia, while also encouraging community creativity and promoting the development of tourism in Samosir Regency, especially in Simanindo District.

The festival was officially opened by Marudut Tua Sitinjak, Secretary of Samosir Regency, representing Regent Vandiko Gultom. Also in attendance were Kennauli A. Sinaga, Head of Samosir’s Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK), DPRD Member Juliana Pardede, and Hans Sidabutar, Head of Simanindo District.

As Chairwoman of the committee and Head of TP PKK Simanindo, drg. Olda Sianipar expressed her pride and joy at the overwhelming enthusiasm from the thousands of attendees who filled the venue from the first to the final day.

The festival featured an array of competitions and cultural showcases that engaged the whole community, including:

  • Day One: Culinary competitions presented by PKK members from 21 villages and sub-districts, along with a children’s drawing contest.

  • Day Two: Traditional Batak vocal competitions accompanied by local instruments, and a Tuak Takkasan brewing competition.

Beyond the contests, the atmosphere came alive with performances from Batak artists, who entertained both locals and tourists with signature Batak songs—creating a vibrant blend of culture and joy.

According to Erwin Sidabutar, Head of Tuktuk Village, the festival was not only a source of pride as the host community, but also had a positive impact on the local tourism sector.

“The enthusiasm from the community was incredible. Hotel and accommodation occupancy increased significantly during these two days. We truly hope this festival can continue and grow into an even larger annual event,” he shared.

Meanwhile, Daniel Lambok Manik, one of the vocal competition participants, noted that the event was more than just a contest. It was also a way to strengthen love for Batak traditions and local wisdom.

As the venue for the festival, Marianna Resort & Convention was proud to host such a meaningful cultural celebration. Beyond providing space, Marianna also set up a special stand during the event.

The stand served as a bridge between Marianna and the local community, offering direct interaction with visitors and local SMEs. This initiative reflects Marianna’s commitment to strengthening relationships with the community while supporting the growth of small businesses in Samosir.

General Manager of Marianna Resort & Convention, Mr. Willy Suderes, expressed his appreciation for the trust given to the resort to host this event.

“We believe tourism thrives best when it grows hand in hand with the community. That is why Marianna Resort aspires to be more than just a five-star destination, but also a partner for local SMEs and a steward of Samosir’s cultural heritage. This festival proves that when communities, government, and tourism stakeholders work together, the results are extraordinary,” he said.
